It just seems funny that Blitz was a moblie port of WoT, and now Blitz is being re-ported back to PC. Then at some point in the future you can always remove your game from steam - you've got the users already signed up to accounts and playing so taking it off steam loses you and them nothing but gains the company increased profits because now steam isn't taking its cut.Ĭouldn't they have done that with WoT as well? It builds a free to play community so fast most tend to suffer server overload in the first week or three.Įssentially you take a short term loss in profits to steam in order to jump-start your population way beyond what you'd normally get releasing on your own website - it essentially saves you a massive amount of money that you'd otherwise have to invest into marketing. Probably because releasing on Steam is a good way to get yourself thousands to millions of uses checking out your free to play game in an instant. Then why bother releasing blitz on steam? Steam requires games to sell any additional content through their store page so they can take a cut, which is also why EA stopped releasing their games on Steam and made Origin.
